Island Hopping


Visit the islands in a different way, get more contact with the community and explore different places, do different activities.

 

Option 1: 4 different islands (6 days)

 

Day 1: Arrive at Baltra airport, where our driver meets you for the transfer in, and hotel check-in.  Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station with a Galapagos Naturalist Guide.

 

Day 2: Land tour to Floreana Island.  Accompanied by your Guide, you will visit the highlands and the pirates’ caves, where the first inhabitants of the island used to live. The “Galapaguera”, a farm where you find giant tortoises in the wild.  “Asilo de la Paz” a fresh-water spring, famous in the early history of the island.  You will have your lunch in a local restaurant and get ready for snorkeling at “La Loberia” where you may snorkel with sea lions.

 

Day 3: Land tour to Plazas/Bartolome/Seymour (Description in Land Tours)

 

Day 4: In the morning you will visit the highlands of Santa Cruz and go to “El Trapiche” where a local family of farmers produced liquor and coffee. In the afternoon you take the ferry to go to Isabela Island. Sun set at the beach.

 

Day 5: Visit the “Humedales” Wetlands; a nice walk surrounded by mangroves and native flora of the island, and a beautiful place for bird watching, with details and information from your Guide.  You visit the “Wall of Tears”.  This huge useless stone wall was erected by convicts in the first half of this century when that area served as a penal colony. Many prisoners died during the work and the construction earned its infamous name Wall of Tears or “Muro de las Lagrimas”.  In the afternoon board a small boat for the Bay Tour, and visit the “Tintoreas” a natural channel where the white tip reef sharks rest. We also find penguins on the rocks and will have a time for snorkeling.

 

Day 6: Take the ferry in the morning to Santa Cruz and transfer to Baltra airport. 

 

Option 2: Dive at Santa Cruz and visit Isabela Island (6 days)

Day 1: Arrive at Baltra airport, where our driver meets you for the transfer into town, and hotel check-in.  Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station with a Galapagos Naturalist Guide.

 

Day 2: Daily dive tour

 

Day 3: Daily dive tour

 

Day 4: Santa Cruz High land tour.  You will visit the lava tunnels and the giant turtles with a Galapagos Naturalist Guide. In the afternoon you take the ferry to go to Isabela Island. Sunset at the beach.

 

Day 5: You visit the “Humedales” Wetlands, a nice walk surrounded by mangroves and native flora of the island, and a beautiful place for bird watching with your informative Guide. You visit the “Wall of Tears” This useless wall was erected by convicts in the first half of this century when that area served as a penal colony. In the afternoon you will do a Bay Tour, and visit the “Tintoreas” a natural channel where the white tip reef sharks rest.  We also will see the endemic Galapagos penguins and have a time for snorkeling.

 

Day 6: Take the ferry in the morning to Santa Cruz and transfer to Baltra airport. 

 

Option 3: Dive tours and 3 different island (7 days)
