ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVING
About the Advanced Open Water Diving Course
The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. And no, you don’t have to be experienced to take it!
This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI instructor. The course builds on Open Water Diving skills and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and ways to have fun while scuba diving.
You will complete 5 different short courses called ‘Adventure Dives’:
- 1 (Mandatory) Deep diving – where you will learn to dive to max 30m/100ft accompanied by the dive instructor
- 2 (Mandatory) Underwater Navigation accompanied by the dive instructor
- 3-5 Three Adventure dives of your choice can be: Drift Diving, Fish Identification, Peak Performance Buoyancy, or Night Dive. Accompanied by the dive instructor, but also with other recreational divers who are not doing the course, however the instructor will reinforce the knowledge at the surface before entering the water.
We tend to recommend that you include Peak Performance Buoyancy, Drift Diving and Fish Identification as three of your optional Adventure dives. These skills are particularly useful for diving comfortably in the Galapagos conditions and moving your performance quickly past the novice stage. We can also include the Night Dive adventure, ask your sales agent for more information!
