About the Emergency First Response Course
Emergency First Response(EFR) is a PADI affiliate that specializes in teaching Emergency Primary and Secondary Care skills – they’re for anyone, not just divers and would be useful in any other maritime based activity. CPR and first aid are particularly useful for anyone involved in adventure sports – just in case of an emergency. The EFR offers valuable skills required for the PADI Rescue Diver course. In this course you will learn:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level
- AED (automated external defibrillator) use (optional)
- Preventing and caring for shock
- Spinal injury management
- Use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk
- Basic first aid and first aid kit considerations

Course Requirements
To enroll in Emergency First Response courses, you must be fully aware of your surroundings and environment and want to be able to assist people in need during a medical emergency.

- Note: All divers are responsible for reading their EFR manual themselves. Video sessions at the dive center will reinforce this reading and Instructors are available throughout to answer questions.
