ROCA BALLENA
Roca Ballena, (whale rock), is a mostly submerged formation located about a 30-minute boat ride southeast of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. it is a popular spot, offering a wide variety of the marine animals found locally.
Dives generally begin to the east of the site and follow the current westward, as the group gradually descends over the rock formation to a sandy bottom at a depth of 16 meters. From here, divers slowly continue over a breakaway edge, to a maximum depth of 22 meters.
The strength of the current and the depth at Roca Ballena make for a site that's perfectly suited to the more experienced diver. Note - Some tours visit this dive site with two tanks, others combine it with the wreck of the Caragua.
