Bartolome
The small island of Bartolome, off the coast of its big brother Santiago, is particularly famous for its pinnacle rock, but is also home to a beautiful diving spot. The dive is relatively easy and mainly takes place on a large sandy, rocky platform at a depth of about 10 meters. Whitetip sharks, green turtles, stingrays, marbled rays, mobulas, starfish, are among the permanent inhabitants of this diving spot. This dive site is located about 1.5 hours from the Itabaca Channel, north of Santa Cruz.

Location
Bartolome, a quite young island known for its pinnacle, is offshore to the east of one of the largest islands, Santiago. This dive site is located about 1.5 hours from the Itabaca Channel, north of Santa Cruz.

Dive conditions
Bartolome has moderate currents. A huge sandy/rocky platform is located at about 10 meters depth where most of the time is spent. It is a protected area with a great variety of fish and echinoderms.
At the edge of this platform there are underwater cliffs which start at about 15 meters depth and offer good chances to observe pelagic species.
After the dive the boat will approach the famous pinnacle to look for the endemic Galapagos penguin, the second smallest penguin in the world and the only one that lives on the equator.
