More diving, San Cristobal Island diving

LAS TIJERETAS

Las Tijeretas, located just 15 minutes by boat from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, provides for an easy dive on the northwestern coast of San Cristobal Island. Note - This dive site is usually offered in combination with the wreck of the Caragua.

The site is known for its sea lion colony, the members of which always seem enthusiastic to join divers in the water. Other species that divers usually see at the site include, sea turtles, stingrays, and reef sharks.

The water at this dive site, within the bay, is almost always calm, making it an excellent location for novices and those looking for warm-up dives, night dives, or simply a relaxed dive to a maximum depth of 10 m/33 ft.

Outside the bay, the seabed slopes gradually to 25 m and merges into open water. Here you can expect to see larger pelagics including bull sharks, dolphins, and eagle rays.
