The Galapagos
Biking tours
Biking in the Galapagos Islands, particularly on islands like Santa Cruz and Isabela, offers a unique way to experience the archipelago's landscapes and wildlife.
Santa Cruz Island biking from Puerto Ayora, allows you to cycle through picturesque farmland and meet local people, see giant tortoises, and access Cerro Coker, a viewpoint in the highlands.
Isabela Island biking provides the chance to see, ‘Muro de las Lagrimas’ (Wall of Tears) a former prison, and the opportunity to ride ‘downhill’ from the Sierra Negra volcano.
We can provide guided biking tours, allowing you to explore the islands with experts, as you proceed at your own pace.

Considerations for Biking in the Galapagos:
- The islands offer a mix of paved and dirt roads, so be prepared for different surface types
- Some trails involve uphill climbs, so be sure you are comfortable with the effort
- Be mindful of wildlife, especially as some animals may be unaccustomed to humans.
- While well-developed in some areas, tourism infrastructure can be less reliable on smaller islands, such as Floreana
- Cell Phone Coverage can be spotty in the Galapagos, so let someone know your itinerary if you plan on biking in remote areas
