Santa Fe
Santa Fe’s north east dive sites are sheltered from strong currents and surf, making them ideal for divers of all experience levels. Our first dive site’s topography features a sandy bottom and rock wall where sea lions gather. The largest sea lion colony calls this area their home. Maximum start depth is 10 meters - ideal for checking your gear and weights while surrounded by sea lions and reef fish. After this, you’ll explore the area and have the opportunity to spot white tip reef sharks, sea turtles, and stingrays in depths up to 17 meters. Our second site features a multi-tiered rocky topography that slopes down to a sandy bottom at a depth of 16 meters. During the dive, you can spot different Galapagos shark species, sea turtles, and—if we’re very lucky—manta rays. Halfway through the dive, we’ll see a (small) cave where sea lions often play, and sea turtles rest. Visibility tends to be quite good at both sites.
Location
Santa Fe Island is located about a 45-minute boat ride southeast of Santa Cruz, and the trip departs directly from Puerto Ayora. This makes this diving excursion one of those with the shortest travel time.
